Standing Committees

Audit Committee
The Audit Committee, operating independently of the Board, reviews the financial records of the State Academy, bi-annually, and report its findings to the membership.

Membership Committee
The Membership Committee is responsible for the recruitment and onboarding of new SAPA members, support current members, manage the annual dues process, and ensure the membership list is an accurate representation of member status.

Marketing & Communications Committee
The Marketing and Communications Committee is responsible for coordinating all outreach and communication activities of the State Academy including, but not limited to:  managing the State Academy’s social media platforms (i.e., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X, formerly known as Twitter, presence); coordinate preparation of a quarterly newsletter; create and maintain relationships with media contacts; publicize State Academy events when directed; maintain the State Academy website ensuring content is kept current posting events and programs to the website.

Program Committee
The Program Committee is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of the State Academy’s professional and leadership development programs and collaborating with the Membership Committee to design and implement member engagement initiatives (i.e., networking, mentorship, events, etc.)

Public Service Excellence Awards Committee
The Excellence Awards Committee is responsible for managing the annual Public Service Excellence Awards program.  Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to: announcing and promoting the program; develop and issue the call letter for nominations; secure meeting space and coordinate program logistics; compose announcements, reminder emails, and event program; coordinate registrations; obtain awards; coordinate the activities of the Nomination Review Committee; lead Board discussions/decisions; notify awardees; coordinate with the AGA; develop the Ceremony slide deck; collaborate with the Rockefeller Award Committee on the identification and selection of award recipients.
