Welcome to the New York State Academy for Public Administration (SAPA). The State Academy was formed 40 years ago, harnessing the energy and expertise of our academic and practitioner Fellows who are dedicated to continual improvement of public service. Our launch five years ago of the Candid Conversations series of brown bag lunches became more successful with each session as word of the discussions and topics spread.  Hundreds more have benefited from thoughtful policy programs co-sponsored by our partners at the Nelson A. Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, the Government Law Center at Albany Law School, and the Empire State Capital Area Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA). The Executive Service Corps of the Tri-Cities (ESCOT) engages Fellows as volunteer consultants to local government and non-profit organizations.

We hope that as you learn more about the Academy that you will want to become an Academy Fellow or nominate a colleague that demonstrates the very best in public service!
