On September 10, SAPA members and guests were treated to an exceptional conversation about the “art” of project management from three experts who shared lessons learned from their many years of experience.
Jennifer Lorenz, founder and owner of Human Insights Consulting Group and former Executive Deputy Chief Information Officer at NYS ITS, Samantha Lord, Director for Capital Procurement at the State University Construction Fund, and Carolyn Ryan, Assistant Commissioner for Sustainability and Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) at the NYS Department of Transportation shared pearls of project management wisdom including “project management is more art than science,” “smaller is better,” and “meet your stakeholders where they are.”
SAPA Board Member, Molly Reilly, facilitated the discussion with topics ranging from building accountability in projects to building a cohesive project team to strategies for engaging and aligning stakeholders.
